Along the way, Chen B-Dog chatted with the driver, Aamir. Seeing that he was very tired under the snow, B-Dog volunteered to drive for a certain distance. Aamir smiled and said, “It is not easy to control a sled.”
Chen B-Dog gave the whip a toss and its crack resounded in the air while the sled started to move speedily. Like an expert drive driving steadily, he asked, “What did you say just now?”
Aamir was speechless for a moment. He was not good at Chinese language but was a passionate man. He was curious about Chen B-Dog’s job that had him talking non-stop to the camera along the way. Chen B-Dog did not hold back at all and introduced him to many interesting occupations. When they reached the county town, they had become good friends and even exchanged contact information. B-Dog felt it was worth it to be friends with Aamir. Who knew, he may need help from this Evenki friend in the future. He was really obsessed with the fine food of the Evenki tribe.
After bidding farewell, Chen B-Dog contacted the staff at the Ministry of Forestry’s Institute for Endangered Species, who was waiting for him at the county town.
It was an official meeting indeed. There were about ten to twenty experts there to fetch the little Siberian tigers. And the reporters from HLJ TV had come to film on-site.
Chen B-Dog was caught on film but he declined to comment because he felt very tired now. He asked Dog Egg to take a few photos of the handover situation for posting on Weibo, just as an explanation to the netizens about the fate of Siberian tigers.

He then found a random hotel for accommodation. After taking a bath, he started feeling drowsy and so he laid down on the bed and fell fast asleep.
When he woke up the next day, it was already noon.
Chen B-Dog felt refreshed and he practiced a few rounds of fist in the room until he was covered in sweat. He then took a bath and called room service for breakfast.
It wasn’t till now that he had time to think about his future. Broadcasting in the wild was not as easy as it seemed. It was totally incomparable with Mr. Bear’s filming style which had a team of filming crew. Live broadcast was limited. Even though his popularity had been building up rapidly, it was all because he took advantage of being the first of his kind. Previously the weight-loss motivation video that had gone popular from before, and Panda TV focusing their resources to promote him, was a great help to him as well.
Those popular big anchors had gone through years after years of hardship to accumulate a big group of followers. He rose too fast so his foundation wasn’t quite as strong. If he wanted to complete the System’s Main Mission of reaching ten millions in popularity, he figured he would still require some time if he did not search for alternative solutions.
For now, his primary task was not being overly ambitious, but making this show a successful one. He shall focus on specializing in one thing first, and when he was off to a good start with that, then he could start thinking about other things. After all, the principle of ‘biting off more than one can chew’ was not new to him.
Having taken out the small ball, he communicated with Dog Egg in his heart to reactivate it.
Dog Egg floated in the air and casted a virtual shadow. “Beep, hello Master.”
“Dog Egg, please edit the materials of the live broadcast and proceed to post production!”
“Please set the time length to be… one hour per episode!”
“Beep. Instruction received. Execution started. Estimated to take 30 minutes.”
Chen B-Dog was not in hurry. He asked, “How many people have contacted me during this period?”
“Your father called 7 times, Mother called 12 times, sister Chen Shuhan called 20 times, brother Chen Xiaohu called 15 times, Uncle San called 3 times. Panda’s Editor-in-charge, Xiaolu called 32 times and Chief Editor, Fan Fanfan called 6 times…”
He left his luggage at Harbin with his mobile phone inside so naturally it had been turned off. Suddenly hearing that he had so many missed calls, he was quite taken aback. He ignored Panda for the time being and quickly called his mother with the aid of Dog Egg’s Black Technology. The call went through in no time, answered by his younger sister.
“Hello, may I know who’s that on the line?”
“Hi Sis, this is your big brother.”
“Big Brother?!” Chen Shuhan was surprised and frightened at the same time. She said joyfully, “Are you seriously my brother? Finally you are willing to contact us. I’m telling you, you are doomed. Mum and Dad found out about everything. They have been watching the live broadcast these few days. She was worried to death about you, urging us to call you everyday. Ahem, you shall kneel on the ground when you get home.”
Chen Ergou rubbed his nose with a guilty conscience. His mother always had the final say in their family. His father was an honest farmer while his mother had worked in the Advertising Department of the Town Government. She was a beautiful and knowledgeable woman. Rumor had it that she had countless suitors when she was young, but she ended up marrying his father.
His mother had been taking care of their education since they were young and she was very strict. Kneeling on the ground was a very common punishment for being naughty but not any more since he grew up. However, when his sister mocked at his discomfort, he recalled the not-so-good memories of his childhood. He immediately tried to sound her out about the situation at home.
So, it turned out to be his younger brother who discovered his video when surfing the internet out of boredom and he started watching the video in front of their family members. It was no wonder he was discovered.
The phone was quickly passed on to his mother. At the first sound of Chen B-Dog calling her ‘Mum’, his mother burst into tears before she could say anything. Now, Chen B-Dog was getting more anxious. He was completely at a loss, like a thief who was caught red-handed.
It took him awhile to comfort his mother, but when she finally stopped crying, he became too guilty to talk.
Fortunately, his mother was still a reasonable woman. She did not ask him to go home at once. Instead, she asked about his work in detail. Chen B-Dog reassured her saying, “Your son is very capable now. The wilderness may seem desolated but actually it is not very dangerous as long as you have enough knowledge.” He then made a lot of promises, which was not enough appease his mother but she accepted the fact that her son had become an anchor.
His mother had always doted more on him. While it seemed that his brother and sister were better off as they both attended well-known universities, when his mother knew he could not come back home for Chinese New Year due to his work, she told her second son not to celebrate Chinese New Year as well and asked him to help B-Dog out.
Chen Xiao-hu was used to following B-Dog around everywhere since he was a kid, and he became even more astonished watching his broadcast these few days; it had completely changed his impression of his big brother. Now he had become a 100% fan. When he heard his mother’s suggestion, he applauded and shouted, “Big Brother, let me be your photographer. Let’s go on adventures together.”
Chen Shuhan could not sit still either, “I am going too.”
Chen B-Dog sulked and said, “Don’t even think of joining, the two of you should focus on graduating first.” He rejected them but he felt warm in his heart. He was very close with his two siblings. It had been a long time since the last gathering and he missed them very much.
A plan struck his mind out of the blue. It was not easy to get a job for fresh graduates. Although his brother was learning photographing in a well-known university, it won’t be easy to find a job in this industry. He reckoned he would have enough money by the time his brother and sister graduated, then he could set up a studio and work together with his siblings.
Of course, he had to get consent from his siblings as well for that to work.
They talked for more than half an hour on the phone. Had Dog Egg not inform him that the editing had been completed, they could have talked for another two hours.
“The Godlike Gourmet of the Wild: The Man Standing at the Top of Food Chain, First Season DXAL – First episode, second episode, third episode, fourth episode.”
The materials were actually edited into four episodes, which was a little unexpected. With doubt, Chen B-Dog clicked on it to start watching.
The beginning of the first episode was very good. He made an appearance amidst the upbeat background music, introducing himself and the content of ‘The Godlike Gourmet of the Wild’ and went straight to the point. With just a push on his ski pole, he entered the primitive forest which was covered by the snow. The jungle was a blur behind him as he handled all kinds of obstacles with his vigorous actions. The content of the entire episode was pretty full and could hardly find any unnecessary point. Dog Egg’s Oscar-level filming skill was flawless. Especially for scenes when he encountered danger, it even set a suspense-inducing background music to heighten the atmosphere.
The part where the wolf had caught the rabbit and he was acting like the oriole picking up after a mantis, fighting the lone wolf by himself, had become the highlight of this video.
Besides, being a show centered on fine dining, adventures, and survival, it naturally did not lack wonderful cuisine.
Chen B-Dog boasted that he was thick-skinned. Yet, he still felt shy when he watched his own performance in the video. Even so, when he saw his utmost-handsome performance in the video, he couldn’t help but be impressed by himself.
But somehow, it still seemed as if it was lacking a little something.
