- Chapter 53 - Time to Say Goodbye
…
Chen B-Dog honored his promise by bringing the millions of audience to see the legendary wood house of white birch bark.
As they were living in the jungle, the Evenki people made use of locally available materials to make fine arts and crafts. These artistic objects had beautiful shapes and exquisite patterns. Besides that, they also had strong ethnic characteristics and were very practical.
“Fellow friends, did I lie to you? The use of birch bark by the Evenki people has a long history. The bark pasted on the wall outside was at most an inferior one. Their usage was mainly evident in the production of household utensils. They can make exquisite carving artworks with birch bark. The main designs included spiral and curvilinear patterns, cirrus cloud patterns, and auspicious patterns. These would be carved on the daily necessities such as birch bark case, birch bark boxes, barrels, bowls, and basins.”
“They also carved animal designs like moose, deer, and ducks on the kids’ toy.”
For sentimental purposes, Chen B-Dog exchanged some wolf fangs and wolf clavide for a few exquisite wood carvings of white birch bark.

Most of them liked outdoor activities. There was a dartboard on the tree trunk where a red circle was painted on it. This was the entertainment central of the village hunters where they would also do some fun activities in their everyday life.
Several men tried to show off and threw out the darts. They even passed three to Chen B-Dog and asked him to give it a try.
Chen B-Dog was already itching to try it, so he wasn’t pretentious and immediately raised his hand to throw the dart out.
At this moment, Chen B-Dog shocked the Evenki again. He took the darts and without looking, he simply threw them out. The audience in the broadcast room could only see a glittered flash from afar. The sound of the darts hitting the board resounded thrice. And all the men could see was that the darts had already hit the inner ring of the Bull’s eye.
Everyone was stunned, especially the audience of the broadcast room. Indeed they had seen Chen B-Dog use the flying knife for a few times, and it was honestly not very accurate. However, Chen B-Dog kept debating that it was because he forgot to bring the proper knife for it. He had been using the hunting knife as the flying knife so the accuracy was compromised. At that time, not many believed him as they thought he was bragging. Now it turned out to be a hard fact. Naturally, they could not refute it anymore.
And so their only outlet was to fill the screen with pop-up comment “Bravo,” and the same comment instantly flooded the screen of live broadcast room.
Chen B-Dog was beyond pleased. He did not forget to provide a commentary during meal time. “My fellow friends, the primary food source of the Evenki hunters are noodles and meat. They always eat roe deer, deer, wild boars, bears, squirrels, flying dragons fishes and etc, using those meats to cook, roast, grill and make into jerkies. They also drink reindeer milk tea throughout the year.”
“On this point, I feel that the food they eat is similar to what I was eating in the jungle.”
“In addition, they have many kinds of wild vegetables such as wild onions, wild celery, wild leeks, daylily, mushrooms, bog bilberry, red beans, Siberian crab apples and bird cherries. They could be eaten fresh or processed and stored for daily use. When I was in the jungle, the entrance had been blocked by the snow so I was unable to find any wild vegetables. I have to say it’s a pity. Furthermore, they often make bog bilberry sauce as the seasoning for the noodles. There are two types of noodles: One being fried noodles and the other being Ukleba (pancake), the dough of which is kneaded and fermented without adding soda.”
“As for the wild game flavors, they have stir-fried Flying Dragon and wild cold-water fish. I have tasted all these and they were absolutely delicious.”
“Besides all those, there are hand-grilled lamb, special roasted wild venison, roasted lamb chop, roasted leg of lamb, special roasted Ukleba and etc. As for the milk tea of the Evenki hunters, they would boil deer milk with black tea. It is a rare beverage high in its nutritional content.”
They were truly a hunter tribe; even their meals were so creative and innovative.
The Evenki people liked singing and dancing.
Their folk songs’ tunes were bold and rich in the atmosphere of grassland and forest. The lyrics were mostly written spontaneously, evoked by the landscape. There were many songs that had the same tune but different lyrics which were written on different occasions. They used the songs to express their feelings of pleasure, anger, sorrow and joy.
Even though he did not understand their language, through the melodious and unrestrained rhythm, he could feel the broad-minded and modest personalities of the Evenki people who lived in the forest and grasslands.
Songs could never be complete without dances. Surrounding the hot bonfire, they sang and danced joyously.
Chen B-Dog was not good at dancing. Yet, he was asked to join them and had a very good time.
He did not forget to provide a commentary to the audience of the broadcast room while he was at it. “The dance steps of this group-dance are simple and lively. They usually use this way to express their enthusiasm for life.”
“As the Evenki people worship swans, swans are depicted as their totem. The Swan Dance is the folk dance of the Evenki tribe, which is called Uuhchu in the Evenki language. Back then, the women like to imitate the postures of the swan during their free time, often dancing to amuse themselves and gradually it evolved into a fixed dance that is the Swan Dance. Look, don’t they look like swans dancing in the sky?”
The atmosphere was outrageously lively in the broadcast room.
“Bravo.”
“Lord B-Dog, how is it that you even know the customs of minority groups?”
“I didn’t wait in vain. Just for this round of delicacies and dance alone, I have decided to go to this village for my vacation next year.”
“That girl dancing there has a nice figure. Lord B-Dog you should accost her and then get married.”
After a scrumptious dinner, it was finally time to bid farewell. An experienced sled hunter would be taking him to the nearest town.
The sled was completely pulled by reindeer. On the snowy grounds, this was the most wonderful vehicle.
Chen B-Dog sighed with emotion and said, “The reindeer brings vitality to this winter. They are gentle, easy to breed and pasture. Their main food source is moss and other wild plants so DXAL alpine region is a suitable habitat for them to live and reproduce.”
“Perhaps you would think these reindeer are the same with the one pulling Santa’s sled, Rudolph. But when they get serious, they are way fiercer than Rudolph. Because they are good helpers for the Evenki hunters and the reindeer used to be their only mode of transport, the name has a very nice ring to it, called the “Forest Boat”. Now I am going to take the sled pulled by the reindeer and leave the forest.”
It was time to say goodbye.
While sitting on the speeding sled, Chen B-Dog said loudly. “My friends, after four days and three nights of surviving in the wilderness, I have crossed the entire DXAL primitive forest from one end to the other, and after completing the journey of a few hundred kilometers, I finally pinpointed the exact location of the very last, legendary hunting tribe of China.”
At this very moment, Chen B-Dog got quite excited as he spoke.
“This journey had been a wonderful experience. I would like to thank Mother Nature who allowed me to accomplish these feats safely with a full stomach.”
“We stole the wild rabbit from under the mouth of a wolf. We encountered the sudden attack of a big brown bear. We witnessed the rare and beautiful aurora. We crossed the iced river. We slaughtered the entire wolf pack and saved two little Siberian tigers. We found the doe and managed to get it to nurse the tiger cubs. I would like to thank you for your company, making it so that I wasn’t lonely.”
He was very emotional, extremely so.
He was leaving soon, which meant that the first broadcast would come to an end. His mind was somehow having mixed feelings.
“At this moment, I am feeling quite a lot of reluctance, because the broadcast is coming to an end. I wonder if you share the same feelings with me.”
In the broadcast room, the gift-sending had already exploded. The Bamboos were being sent crazily and all kinds of pop-up comments were sent. Almost 6.23 million people were in this broadcast room right now, watching his live broadcast.
“Please don’t stop the live broadcast.”
“Lord B-Dog, I don’t want you to go.”
“Please don’t stop the live broadcast. We want to continue watching until you send the tiger cubs off.”
“If you don’t broadcast in the New Year, how are we to celebrate the New Year?”
“Zhou B-Ke treats Chen B-Dog 1 Buddha Jumps over the Wall…”
“Big Nose Nuofeng treats Chen B-Dog 10 Buddha Jumps over the Wall…”
“Popular Cloud treats Chen B-Dog to 8 Buddha Jumps over the Wall…”

“Sister Chu treats Chen B-Dog to 100 Buddha Jumps over the Wall…”
“Xiao Ji Zi treats Chen B-Dog to 5 Buddha Jumps over the Wall” while leaving the message, “Lord B-Dog, when is your next broadcast?”
…
Chen B-Dog was very touched and said, “Thanks to B-Ke, Nuofeng, Chicken Killer, Cloudy, Mr. A, Xiao Ji Zi and also Chief Cow, President, Sister Dust and Sister Chu for sending me Buddha Jumps over the Wall. There are far too many for me to name separately. Please stay calm, and hear me out. Firstly, Chinese New Year, the most important festival in China is coming. B-Dog would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Happy Chinese New Year in advance. I wish you a happy New Year, where all is well and propitious, with happy family reunions and good health.”
“DXAL primitive forest is only the first stop of my show, ‘The Godlike Gourmet of the Wild’. As for the time and venue of the next broadcast, please follow my Weibo page. There is a direct link at the bottom of the room. I can’t go home to celebrate Chinese New Year because I need to make serious preparations. I will be starting the second Adventure Tour broadcast as soon as possible after the New Year. The specific time will be announced in both the live broadcast room and my Weibo.”
“For this live broadcast, there is still much room for improvement. There were many occasions where I did not interact with you and I have neglected to see the many gifts you sent at the time. I hope you would forgive me. I will be putting in more effort and I assure you, I will do better for next live broadcast.”
“I have followed your Weibo. Lord B-Dog, Happy New Year.”
“Lord B-Dog, I love you.”
“Lord B-Dog, go home for New Year.”
Hungry Flirty said, “Lord B-Dog, I will give you a big red packet.”
Xuan Yuan, “Guys, do not stop the Bamboo-gifting.”
…
At this moment, the height of his broadcast room had increased to 680m from the original 20m tall before he entered the jungle. The Bamboos alone had earned him a few hundred thousand dollars.
“I will send the tiger cubs to safety and notify you later through Weibo.”
“It is time to say goodbye. Parting now is for a better reunion in the future. So let’s just stop here. Goodbye everyone. Happy New Year!”
The camera remained where it was, while the sled continued on speedily. Chen B-Dog sat on the sled and waved towards the direction of the camera. Soon, it got further and further until it disappeared behind the snow. Even the high-definition camera could only vaguely catch the sight of a shadow through the snow.
Meanwhile, the number of audience in the broadcast room had not reduced one bit. They were reluctant to leave even until the screen had blackened completely, staying behind to chat in the broadcast room.
